Alix of Bohemia: The Handmade American Brand You're About to Obsess Over
There's a very specific kind of piece that makes you stop mid-scroll. It has a story. Like it came from someone's studio, traveled through the hands of an artisan in another country, and landed in your closet like a love letter to the idea that clothes can actually mean something. That's Alix of Bohemia, and we're thrilled to introduce her to the Coco Goose family.

Who Is Alix of Bohemia?
Alix of Bohemia is the brainchild of designer Alix Verley Pietrafesa, whose origin story is exactly as romantic as her clothes suggest. While studying art history in Scotland, a collection of vintage textiles and a spontaneous sewing machine purchase set her on a path that would become one of the most compelling independent women's brands in America. She honed her craft making over 2,500 bespoke one-of-a-kind pieces before building what the brand is today: a New York-designed collection rooted in heirloom craft and the belief that the slow way is always the better way.
The brand launched in 2014 and has since earned placement at Bergdorf Goodman, Net-a-Porter, and Neiman Marcus. In October 2025, Pietrafesa held her first-ever runway show at the High Line Hotel Ballroom - a decade into building the brand, on her own terms. Very Alix of Bohemia. Every piece she makes involves a person, a family, a generation, a history - hand embroidered, hand woven, hand quilted, or hand printed by artisans from India to Guatemala, Portugal to the United States.

Why Natural Fibers Actually Matter
Every Alix of Bohemia piece is made using only natural fibers, and this is not just a marketing point. Natural fibers breathe, drape beautifully, and age with character. Her pieces get softer with every wash, like a great pair of jeans you've had since college. The intention is to create something you'll keep forever. The Cool Hour called it "bohemian with backbone" - the best two-word summary we've heard. WWD covered her Spring 2026 runway debut and the fashion world caught up to what her loyal customers have known for years.
What We're Carrying at Coco Goose
We curated a tight, intentional edit for our Vermont and Rhode Island boutiques and shopcocogoose.com. Here's what to know about it:
If you're a blouse person, start with the Winnie Tutu Bloom Shirt in Light Pink ($390) - cotton voile with puff shoulders, a ruffle collar, and a vintage botanical print that makes jeans feel like a whole look. Her sister piece, the Annabel Tutu Bloom Shirt ($420), gives the same energy in a slightly different silhouette.

The Styla Parisian Pedal Shirt ($550) and Dana Parisian Pedal Shirt ($620) are hand-loomed pure silk with a vintage cyclist motif and dramatic French cuffs. Pair either with the Soraya Parisian Pedal Sarong ($320) for a set that travels and photographs beautifully. If you love a button-up that actually has something to say, these are it.

The Dorian Baroque Dune Jacket in Off-White ($1,650) is the piece that stops people - heirloom embroidery, a silhouette that works over everything, something you'll still be reaching for in twenty years. The Winn Pearl Jester Shirt($690) has that same undone artisan quality.
The Sammi Midnight Hare Cardigan ($950) — Italian cotton, hand-embroidered rabbits, handmade mushroom buttons — is among the best sweaters and knits to land at Coco Goose in a while. Throw it over a dress or wear it as a top. Either way works.
For evening or just a really good Tuesday, the Lilia Pressed Daisy Dress in Black ($980) and the Spice Ibis Jubilee Dress in Off-White Mosaic ($1,650) are both maxi moments worth the investment. The Mimi Onyx Prima Lace Top ($450) is the entry point if you want to start smaller.
Why It Belongs at Coco Goose
Coco Goose has always been about laid back luxe - elevated dressing that doesn't take itself too seriously. Alix of Bohemia lands squarely in that world. These are pieces for women who appreciate craft without needing to explain it, who would rather own one extraordinary thing than ten forgettable ones. Check out our new arrivals - Alix is just the beginning.
