The Hailey and CBK Effect. Two Icons, One Philosophy.
I have a confession. I am a little obsessed with Hailey Bieber. I follow her closely, I study her looks and I am consistently inspired by the way she gets dressed. It looks so easy and yet every single outfit is so considered. That is the magic of her. And then there is Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, who did the exact same thing thirty years ago. Different eras, same energy. Two women who figured out that less is always more and never looked back.
Hailey's off-duty wardrobe has become a blueprint for a new kind of dressing: understated, precise, and quietly luxurious. At its core are elevated basics, clean silhouettes, and a sharp balance between casual and tailored. A crisp white tee. Straight leg jeans. Great sunglasses. Structured blazers, classic sweaters, sleek leather loafers. Polished staples mixed with understated basics that feel intentional, refined and endlessly wearable.
CBK was doing exactly that in the nineties. Leather blazers, khaki trenches, fitted black leather jackets worn as tops, long midi skirts with a great sneaker. Effortless, undone, quietly iconic.
The jacket is the throughline for both. Outerwear does half the work. A long trench coat completely changes the energy of the look. Throw it over everything. A leather blazer, a great trench, a denim jacket over the shoulders. That one layer is the difference between a good outfit and a great one.
Here is how we do it at Coco Goose. Start with your white tee and straight jeans. Add your best sunglasses. Belt it, throw something over your shoulders, grab a minimal bag and go. Clean, simple and so good.
Less effort. More style.
Wear what you want
