The Subtle Statement of Stripes for Summer 2026

Stripes are one of those things that never really go away, but this summer they feel different. Less nautical, less expected. The stripe we're seeing everywhere right now is a little more relaxed, a little more personal - a pinstripe amongst pleats, a twilight tone, a track stripe on denim. Designers went in every direction this season. The common thread is that none of it feels like a theme (goodbye to the only-nautical, French sailor stripe). It just feels like good clothes that happen to have stripes on them. It's not the Breton top your mom wore to the Vineyard in 1994. It's something with a little more intention behind it. A subtle statement.

Here are a few of our favorites in right now in our collection:

The The New Society Silene Tee in Multicolor is a ribbed cotton tee made in Portugal with a multicolor stripe that's more interesting than it sounds. Fitted, short sleeve, tucks into everything. The kind of piece you reach for when you want to look put together without putting in effort. Pair with trousers to denim. A long length trouser short if you're feeling bold.

The The New Society Alheli Pant in Summer Midnight Stripes is the brand's best-selling warm-weather pant for good reason. Soft Tencel, elastic waist, relaxed straight leg. The Summer Midnight colorway is both crisp and relaxed.

The THE GREAT. Everyday Pull On Pant in Khaki/Black Club Stripe has a vintage American ease to it - an unexpected bold stripe. Featuring airy cotton, wide straight leg, and a wide cuff. The heritage club stripe is the version of stripes that feels timeless rather than trendy. Almost vintage.

Frank & Eileen is in three stripe worth knowing about. The Eileen in Wide Blue Stripes ($258) is the relaxed Italian cotton version - wide stripe, shirttail hem, signature bust-flattering button placement, the kind of shirt that looks good on everyone. The Eileen in Red Green Navy Multistripe ($258) is the same relaxed silhouette in Italian linen with a multicolor stripe that has a lot more personality than it looks like on the hanger. And if you want something with a little more structure, the Barry Tailored Button-Up in Navy and White Stripe ($258) is the tailored option - Italian cotton, hourglass silhouette, contoured waist. Same great brand, completely different energy. These summer staples are always a good idea and are giving classic stripe vibes.

The Arlo Mott Gates Full Midi Skirt in Rose Stripe ($315) is the soft option. Portuguese poplin, front pleats, full midi length. The rose stripe is warm and wearable without being loud. A subtlety amongst a bold pleat detail is a modern move we're loving.

The Rag & Bone Logan Denim Track Pants in Ecru Sport are the track pant for someone who would never wear a track pant. Featherweight denim, wide leg, athletic side stripes down the front. Wear them with a crisp button-down and a good sandal. No need to pair with a sneaker - track stripes are going off-theme this season.

And the Rag & Bone Ines Stripe Satin Dress in Cream Stripe is the one that does everything. A-line satin maxi, V-neckline, fitted bodice, softly flared skirt. The cream stripe keeps it from feeling heavy. Wear it to a wedding, wear it to dinner, wear it because you finally have somewhere worth wearing it.

The best thing about stripes this summer is that they don't need a lot of help. Wear the Frank & Eileen shirt open over the Z Supply tank. Pair the Arlo Mott skirt with a solid linen top and let the print speak. Throw a denim jacket over the Rag & Bone Ines dress on the way out the door. Wear the Logan track pant with a crisp button-down and pretend you weren't just on your couch. Stripe on stripe is also very much a thing right now - the whole mood is undone nonchalance rather than careful coordination. The rule, if there is one, is that stripes don't need protecting. They do the work on their own.
