Pre-Fall Is Not About Fall
Confusing, I know, but stick with me: pre-fall is about the weeks before the leaves turn, when you want pieces that feel timeless and versatile enough to carry you from now into whatever comes next.
The Formula
Think formulas, not full outfits. A crew or v-neck tee, roomy straight denim, and a cashmere sweater tied at the waist. An oversized knit top with ankle-length straight denim and a pointy flat (snake print included, don't shy away). A sheer long sleeve over slouchy jeans. A knit top with cropped trousers and sandals. A fitted blazer, white buttondown, and loose denim. A cropped jacket, relaxed trousers, and a heel. Mix and match, the formula does the work.
The Pieces
If you need a jumping-off point, Nili Lotan's Carol Tee in Jet Black is a splurge, but the fit and length are worth it when it's the tee you reach for on repeat. The Goldie's Andie Tee in White is an easy cropped crew for layering. Tie Nili's Venus Sweater in Taupe around your waist for a finish that doesn't need to try, and add Apiece Apart's Petite Bari Crop Trouser to nail the relaxed trouser formula. For the bag that carries you from now into fall, it's Nili Lotan's Jagger Bag in Tawny or TWP's North Moore St Bag in Cognac, both built to go the distance.

(Don't panic. Still lots of summer left, but let's make sure the transition season is as care-free as our summer.)
Less effort. More style. Wear what you want.
